Day 1: October 12
Fly To Rome, Italy
Depart the United States for an overnight flight to Europe and the eternal city, Rome
Day 2: October 13
Arrive In Rome, Italy
Buongiorno & welcome to Italy! A local guide will join us as we are acquainted with Rome during an orientation tour of the city. We will see Roman classics such as the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. Later we check into our centrally located hotel (check in is 3PM). Tonight, mingle with fellow travelers during our Italian Welcome Dinner, hosted by Paul Fletcher. (airport transfers are included with the airfare included rate).

Day 3: October 14
Roman Colosseum & Ancient Rome Tour - Food Tour
This morning a local Roman guide joins us as we for a tour of the major sites of this historic city. We have specially arranged tickets to see inside the Colosseum before we walk the Roman Forum, which dates back 2000 years. Tonight, we are joined by a local food guide as we discover the Trastevere, one of Rome’s more authentic and exciting neighborhoods. As we explore this district, we will stop and sample several dishes of the area and sip some of Rome’s local wines. The evening is sure to be a culinary highlight during our time in Italy.

Day 4: October 15
Rome at Leisure
Enjoy a full leisure day in Rome! Perhaps a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museum’s priceless art collection may be of interest (We can help you book your special reservations). Art enthusiasts may want to see the Baroque styled Borghese Gallery, home to numerous Bernini sculptures and paintings by Raphael, Titian and Caravaggio. Tonight, dine alfresco in front of the Pantheon or on charming Piazza Navona, the choice is yours.

Day 5: October 16
San Gimignano & Montecatini Terme
This morning we depart Rome for the sculpted hills and vineyards of Tuscany. During our drive we will stop at a local agriturismo near San Gimignano for lunch before tasting some of the region’s most notable items including; Mortadella, Parmigiano, local olive oils, Balsamic vinegar and Tuscan wines. Today’s lunch is sure to be a highlight. Later, we make our way to the village of San Gimignano, known for its medieval skyscrappers and cobbled lanes. Late afternoon finds us checking into our comfortable accommodations in the historic spa town of Montecatini Terme for the next three nights.

Day 6: October 17
Cinque Terre
Depart the hotel with your Tour Director on an included trip to the Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre offers a dramatic coastline with quaint villages that cling to its cliff-sides. Our day trip will feature three of these iconic villages, including Riomaggiore, Manarola and Vernazza. The Italian Riviera & Cinque Terre will sure to be a highlight during our Italian adventure. Later, we return to our hotel in Tuscany.

Day 7: October 18
Florence
Today, we journey to Florence, the heart of Tuscany by train. Our day begins with an enlightening walking tour led by a local expert, immersing us in the city's rich history. Following this, we'll visit the Accademia Gallery to admire Michelangelo's renowned Statue of David. You'll then have the opportunity to explore Florence at your leisure, meandering through its historical markets and charming lanes. Our day concludes with a train ride back to our hotel in Montecatini. Meals Included: Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 8: October 19
High Speed Train to Venice
As we bid farewell to the rolling hills of Tuscany, we set off on a scenic train ride towards the captivating island city of Venice, a place where history and romance intertwine. Upon arrival, you'll be immediately immersed in the distinctive allure of Venice, a city built on water. You'll experience its winding canals, historic architecture, and the vibrant culture that makes this city a world treasure.

Venice City Tour - Gondola Experience
A local guide joins us as we experience Venice, St. Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge. Discover the tucked-away treasures of Venice’s back streets and charming canals before gliding along on an included gondola cruise on the Grand Canal. Tonight, join fellow travelers during a farewell dinner.

Day 10: October 21
Fly Home from Venice
Today, we say farewell to Italy as we depart for the airport in Venice. We arrive back home with fond memories of our trip to the Best of Italy.
