This morning we depart Salzburg and make our way to Germany's Bavaria region and the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.  En-route, we make a stop at the historic Tratzberg Castle.  Over 500 years ago, Tratzberg Castle began as a small fortress. Through the centuries, it changed hands many times, faced numerous challenges, and underwent constant expansion. Today, it stands as one of Austria's most beautiful and best-preserved Renaissance castles. Remarkably, Tratzberg Castle remains privately owned and serves as the residence of the Count Goëss-Enzenberg family. Later, we make our way to Austria’s Olympic skiing capital, Innsbruck.  The drive will feature Austria's breathtaking alpine scenery, showcasing stunning mountain landscapes and quaint villages. Innsbruck is renowned for its distinctive medieval architecture, especially in the pedestrian-friendly Old Town, where narrow, twisting streets invite exploration. Experience the cozy Christmas markets nestled in the Old Town square, offering festive cheer and unique gifts. Later, we continue to the charming village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, tucked into the Bavarian Alps beneath Germany's tallest peak, the Zugspitze. We will stay in Garmisch for the next three nights, enjoying its alpine beauty and warm hospitality.
